THE BRIEF
A new-build childcare centre needed shade infrastructure meeting Cancer Council and DET compliance for both fixed play areas and a flexible multi-use yard.
THE PROBLEM
The site failed initial compliance audit on UV exposure across two play zones. Operations couldn’t commence until rectified, with trading delayed and enrolments at risk.
THE SOLUTION
Combination of fixed sail-style shade structures over the toddler zone and a motorised retractable roof over the primary play yard. All fabrics UPF 50+ and engineered to AS 4174.

THE OUTCOME
Centre passed re-audit first attempt. Opened on schedule. Now used as a reference site for the operator’s national rollout.
